You become angry that Talpi has taken the scale from you. You lunge at him to try and get back but you hurt yourself more than you hurt him.
Anaid: Scale I thought it was me you wanted!?
You begin to pound your fist against Talpi which doesn’t hurt him at all. But you aren’t the type to quit so you keep doing it.
You hardly notice Anaid hitting you as you continue to speak to the magic scale.
Talpi: Alright, I’ll do it…just turn me back please.
Scale: So be it.
The scale starts to glow and you feel a strange pulse in your body. You feel yourself beginning to shrink and you collapse. You groan and sit up, looking at your hand.
Talpi: Alright, I’m me agi-OH SHIT!
You notice that you are completely bare. You quickly dash behind the table and grab clothes from your sylladex to put on, and a spare pair of goggles. You hope Anaid didn’t see anything.
The scale is gone and you feel sad but then it reappears and your happy.
Scale: Your trial begins now! If you pass you will remain in your troll form if you fail you become a dragon for ever!
You’re glad that your matesprit seems to be normal now. You hear the scale say that the trail is now starting, but nothing is happening so far.
Talpi: Uhhhh…what is the trial.
Scale: You must….face yourself.
Talpi: Face myself? How do I do that, punch myself in the face?
You are still confused, and you see the scale shine briefly. You then hear a dark chuckle and you see something coming towards you from the dark. Emerging from the dark is…you. Except this you has some purple-black, smoky aura surrounding him and his eyes seem to glow bright yellow from behind his goggles. He has a sinister look on his face.
Talpi: W-what are you?
He laughs a bit and is speaking now, and his voice sounds somewhat garbled and demonic.
Shadow Talpi: I’m you…
You are too distracted by the scale to realize the shadow of Talpi is coming right towards you. He grabs you by the neck and runs off with you into the temple. Now you have snapped back to normal.
Anaid: Talpi help me please!
The shadow Talpi is running carring you. You don’t know what he wants with you but it can’t be anything good.
Talpi: Hey, get the hell back here!
You chase your…other self throughout the temple, until you reach a dead end in another huge room. Your other self has Anaid beside him and he stares at you with a grin.
Talpi: How can ya be me? I wouldn’t run with my matesprit like that.
Shadow Talpi: Oh, but I am you…I am Talpi, and I’m…quite envious of my matesprit here.
Talpi: W-what? No I’m not!
Shadow Talpi: I’m jealous of all the high bloods. They have the opportunity to do something great, while I cannot.
Talpi: What? No, that ain’t true!
You’re starting to get really pissed at your other self, who is spouting all these things about him, like they were about you as well. This…thing can’t be you.
This Shadow Talpi looks at you with bright yellow eyes. It squeezes your neck tighter.
Anaid: Let go of me you fool!
The dark Talpi just hisses at you in reply.
Shadow Talpi chuckles some more, tightening his grip on Anaid as he continues to taunt you.
Shadow Talpi: Hell, my ancestor didn’t do anything fantastic…he was just a raging holligan!
Talpi: No he isn’t! How dare you!
Shadow Talpi: I can’t stand being a low blood…I wish I was a high blood, maybe I can do something with my life!
Talpi: STOP IT! I don’t give a damn about the hemospectrum!
Shadow Talpi: Oh, but I do. I hate my snot colored blood, and I’m too dumb and lowly to do a damn thing!
You clench your fists, you claws digging into the palm of your hand and drawing blood. You shout at the top of your lungs.
Talpi: NO, SHUT THE HELL UP! You’re NOT ME! There’s no way in HELL you’re me!
After your outburst, your other self’s black aura starts to grow and he tossed Anaid aside. He starts to laugh maniacally as his aura consumes him and grows bigger. You suddenly feel dizzy and collapse. The black aura finally disappears, the other you’s form has changed. He has turned into some sort of cybernetic mole with drills replacing it’s entire face and front arms. A gold medal hangs from his neck with a lime green x across it. You can see that his beating heart is exposed, covered by some sort of glass, transparent casing.
Shadow Talpi: I am a shadow…the true self…and now I shall fight to become better than everyone!
You run beside Talpi. The new form of Shadow Talpi is terrible. When you get near Talpi Shadow Talp grabs you.
Anaid: Let go of me you freak!
Black Diamond: I wouldn’t use words like that if I were you. This thing doesn’t like Highbloods.
Anaid: Talpi kill this thing before it does anymore damage!
You simply stare at your shadow’s new form. Your feelings are conflicted…how is that thing you? You are broken out of your daze when you hear Anaid scream. Your shadow has picked her up with one of it’s drill arms.
Talpi: Hey, put her down!
You take out your pickaxe and run up to attack. Your shadow swipes you and you slam against the wall.
Shadow Talpi: Do not interfere! I must make an example here, that lowbloods can be better!
Your shadow tosses Anaid against the opposite wall. You go to attack, but you are pushed aside again. Your shadow is too powerful…and what it’s saying is getting to you. Yeah, you do envy that highbloods have a better place to live and a better rep. Knowing how your ancestor was, other trolls may look down upon you…okay, you envy highbloods a lot. You shut your eyes tight and shake your head to focus on the situation. You remember that your shadow has it’s heart exposed. You get up once more and sprint to your shadow’s chest. You swing at it’s heart and it immediately stops what it’s doing. Your shadow collapses and slowly turns back into a normal form as it lies on the ground, breathing shallowly. He lifts his head to stare at you.
You watch as Talpi hits the beast in the heart.
Anaid: Go Talpi! Show this impostor who’s boss!
It let’s you go just before it falls. It returns to it’s normal form. It stares at Talpi. Then it stares at you.
Anaid: Why are you looking at me like that! Stop it.
It’s like he’s staring deep inside of you. Shadow Talpi get’s up and starts walking towards you again. You prepare to defend yourself but he’s too fast. He attacks and you raise your arm to deffend yourself. You feel a sharp pain then nothing.
Anaid: The hell kind of attack was- OH MY GOG!
Your left arm is gone. Shadow Talpi is holding it and squeezes the fuchsia blood from it and laughs.
Black Diamond: Two horns and an arm all in one day.
Anaid: You bastard!
Your jaw drops when your shadow rips Anaid’s arm clean off.
Talpi: Oh that fucking does it…you are definitely NOT me!
As you say that, your shadow, transforms back into the creature-thing. You start attacking him in blind fury.
(Won’t be back until Saturday night, going to a con with some friends ^^)
You are trying to re stick your arm back to where in was. It’s not really working but you’re too distraut to know that. You are very out of it. It might be due to all the blood loss. You’re starting to feel light headed.
You hit at your shadow’s weak point again and his form returns to normal and he collapses again. You rush over to your matesprit.
Talpi: Dammit Annie, I’m so sorry…we’ll fix this…
Your shadow slowly gets up.
Shaodw Talpi: Come on now, why won’t you simply accept that I am you?
You turn back to your shadow and glare. You deny your shadow again and it transforms back into the monster again.
Talpi: Aw COME ON!
This thing is getting on your nerves! You lob your left arm at it in anger. You then begin to start beating it with your severed left arm. It’s not all that effective but you’re too angry to really acknowledge that.
While you attack your shadow in blind fury, you hit it’s weak spot agian and he changes back. He sits up snarling at you.
Shadow Talpi: Ok, will you just accept me already?! This is getting really old…
Talpi: Fuck no, not after ya mutilated my matesprit!
